She produced documentary films and assisted other filmmakers on films that were broadcast on national television in India, UK and America. She worked as a facilitator with Outbound Foundation training children in leadership skills, team building and stress management. In Chicago, Illinois, USA, she had the opportunity to study in the most prestigious art schools in USA the Art Institute of Chicago. There she experimented with technology to create artwork. She worked as a graphic designer and artist with the Beyond Media team in building a multimedia environment installation that visualized the situation of incarcerated women in Chicago’s prisons. Amrita has come long way in her artistic endeavor, from painting in watercolors to puppetry performances to creating television programs to building portals on the web to creating virtual immersive interactive 3D environments.
Recently in Summer 2011 she contributed to the group exhibition “Mapping a Prairie City: Lethbridge and its Suburbs” an Interactive digital road map of Lethbridge. Organized by the Southern Alberta Art Gallery with funding by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the City of Lethbridge. Curated by Don Gill and Ryan Doherty.
